| Realise Studio created a beautiful world of exotic flowers and birds made of glass for a 30sec Nescafe TVC; promoting the new "Intense Aroma" product line. Once again Side Effects Houdini was our main tool. Houdini's powerful procedural approach helped the team at Realise create beautiful organic structures and animate them with great flexibility. Houdini's character tools were used to rig the birds and a custom glass shader was used to achieve the final look. |
| This is my second project at Realise Studio. As a Junior Effects Technical Director, I created CG flower models and generated animated sequences for those flowers. Each flower was designed as a Houdini Digital Asset (OTL) with parametric controls to maintain geometry and animation variations. I helped with the scene setups and did the camera tracking for the live action backplates. I also created an OTL for the pollen elements flying around the scene. This was a "particle / shader" system built using Houdini's POPs, VOPSOPs and VEX contexts. |
